Please send anything and everything my way, the name The "IDEA" Door, is just that, open a door to a "world" of ideas, the best way to get ideas is from everyone, I know not everything I do or have on this site right now is want everyone is looking for, but if everyone who has an ideas, or a handout or something to share sent them in, can you image how huge this site would be. Thanks to many generous people for sharing their ideas and talents with us, because of these people this web site has MANY things, Please remember if you are having problems printing something or opening something go to our helps page, the best way to print things are to print from the PDF file, not from the image, and make sure you sign our Guest Book, I'd love to hear from you.

Help Wit's Children's Talk's

You would think after all the years of my kids in Primary I would have a ton of ideas to share, but I saved very little, so I will try to remember some of the talks and put some new stuff down, I could also use your ideas, so please email them to me, make sure you include your name so others will know who contribute to this page!
Thanks

I am working on this page.................. so far I have.............

Some of the best ways to come up with a talk and fast is to use the Gospel Art Kit, if you have this kit in your home just let the child look through the pictures until they find one they would like to use, and if they are old enough to read the story on the back then they can, take note that some are long and you might want to help cut out some parts.
For younger kids you can "rewrite" the story to a easier and smaller version. I keep all my Gospel Art pictures in sheet protectors, so is I just stick the talk part in the back section.
If you don't have this kit you can find it online at this link http://library.lds.org/
You can find the story then get the picture out of the library at church or print out the picture if you want.
Also using the Friend Magazine is another great way, you can search for a topic on LDS.ORG and they will pull up a ton of stuff for you, do this by clicking: Search the Gospel Library Archive
Make sure that when you search you put Friend in the drop down box, so it will only search the Friend, that way you get more  Kid friendly stuff.
If you are not sure what the months theme is you can find it here: Click Here

For real young kids you can use stories from a FHE evening lesson, they love to use pictures, or the Friend does have some great "Picture Stories" you can find those on my FHE Page

Talking to Heavenly Father
I Can Pray For......

I can learn about the gospel in my home.

1. Before we came to earth, we were sons and daughters in Heaven. In our heavenly home we had parents who loved us.
We learned about the gospel, and about living good lives and about doing good and choosing the right.
2. Then we were born to an earthly home to a family where we could continue to learn and grow.
In our home we learned that we can become like our Heavenly Father if we obey the commandments and do what is right. We can do this by:
3. Studying the Scriptures
4.Praying
5. Paying our tithing
6. Being Baptized at age eight.
7.Going to church every Sunday and being reverent.
8. Taking the sacrament and keeping the Sabbath day holy.
9. We can learn many thing from our family and parents.
Learning the gospel as a a family makes us happy and love one another.

Print out this file of pictures. As you read the information you show the picture that goes along with each numbered part. The last page in this file is the text part of this talk.

I know that it looks a little fuzzy, but from far away, as the kids would see it, it looks fine.

My Hands Can Be Reverent at Church

To help show your love to Heavenly Father and Jesus, you should be reverent in church. What you do with your hands is an important part of reverence. The pictures show you what your hands should be doing in church.
Your hands should be still when it*s time to listen.
Your hands should be folded when it*s time for prayer.
Your right hand should carefully take the Sacrament.
Your hand should be raised when you have something to say.
Your hand should be folded when you walk quietly down the halls.
Your hand should quietly open and close doors.

I know that it looks a little fuzzy, but from far away, as the kids would see it, it looks fine.

Roberta's Confirmation

  1. This is a special day for Roberta. She has just been baptized. Now she will be confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she will be given the gift of the Holy Ghost. (You may want to explain to the children that while Roberta is baptized and confirmed by her father, any worthy Melchizedek Priesthood holder may perform these ordinances.)
  2. After Roberta*s father helps her out of the water, her mother meets her with dry clothing. Her wet hair is soon combed neatly, and she is smiling and happy!
  3. When Roberta is ready, she returns to her family and friends, who have been waiting. She goes to a chair at the front of the room with her father.
  4. The bishop [branch president] asks the men that Roberta has chosen to come and stand in the circle. Roberta has asked her father, her grandfather, her uncle, and her home teachers. All these men hold the Melchizedek Priesthood.
  5. Roberta bows her head and closes her eyes. The men place their hands upon her head while her father calls her by name, confirms her a member of the Church, and gives her the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  6. After the confirmation is finished, Roberta shakes hands with the men in the circle, and they congratulate her. Roberta has a wonderful warm feeling inside, and she knows she has chosen the right.

What Are Fast Offering Used For?

What Are Fast Offerings?

By Kimberly Webb
Church Magazines

Verily, this is fasting and prayer, or in other words, rejoicing and prayer (D&C 59:14).

Kimberly Webb, “What Are Fast Offerings?,” Friend, June 2005, 34–35

1 Fast Sunday is on the first Sunday of each month. It is a special day to humble ourselves before the Lord by fasting, praying, and attending fast and testimony meeting.

2 On fast Sunday, members of the Church do not eat or drink for two meals. Children may be encouraged to fast when they are old enough.

3 Members donate the money they would have spent on food for the two meals to help the needy. This money is called a fast offering.

4 Members can give fast offerings to one of the bishopric or branch presidency members. The bishop or branch president uses the money to help those in need in his ward or branch.

5 Fast offerings may be used to help feed the hungry.

6 Fast offerings might be used to care for the sick.

7 In each way a fast offering is used, it helps take care of Heavenly Father’s children.

Again these looks a little fuzzy, but from far away, as the kids would see it, it looks fine.

Holy Ghost

1 Jesus told Joseph Smith that the Holy Ghost does not have a body of flesh and bones as He and Heavenly Father do. The Holy Ghost is a Spirit who can dwell in each of us and give us special gifts.
2 If we love Heavenly Father and keep the commandments, the Holy Ghost gives us gifts. To some of us He gives one gift; to some, another gift. The Holy Ghost gives some people knowledge that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was crucified for us. Others are given the gift of belief in the testimonies of others that the gospel is true.
3 Some Saints are given the gift of leadership. Some Saints are given the ability to know which spirits are righteous and which are wicked. Each person has been given a gift.
4 The Holy Ghost*s gift to some Saints is knowledge. They are wise and make right choices. And they have the desire and ability to help others to do the same.
5 Some Saints are given the gift of faith to be healed; others are given the gift to heal sick people. The Holy Ghost gives some Saints the gift to do miracles.
6 Some Saints are given the gift to speak *in tongues,* or in languages that are unfamiliar to them, and others are given the ability to understand and explain what was spoken in tongues.
7 The Holy Ghost gives some Saints the gift to prophesy, to speak with divine inspiration.
8 A bishop comes to know which gifts each Saint has. He knows who will be a good teacher, who can give healing blessings, and who loves God and obeys His commandments.
9 Righteous Saints can receive many gifts if they are willing to share them. However, they must always remember to thank Heavenly Father for such blessings

This file is 18 pages, I printed the pictures then turned them over and printed the words on the back of each page. Or just print pictures out and use the text at the left.
