I am not sure what type of ideas you
want...program...handouts...? At any rate, here is and idea for a handout.
We did a readers type theatre for out VT Conference, having the sisters
read visiting teaching experiences. We had examples of an inactive
sister, young mother, older sister, and testimonies of a variety of
sisters...we also had a quartet singing in between. After the program, we
handed out a "survival kit" to all our visiting teachers with a bag of
M&M's. Here is the poem...
Thanks E. Rich for this great idea and willingness to share
Visiting Teaching Survival Kit...
Be prepared to
survive your next month
of Visiting
teaching! This kit will provide
you with the
necessary supplies to get
you through those
doubting days.
If you are just a
busy fellow,
go ahead and take
a
yellow.
Maybe you have an
ache in the head.
Need some help?
Take the RED.
Sometimes we feel
grouchy and mean,
these are the
times to take the
green.
Orange
is for that difficult time
when you are
feeling right out of your mind.
If you find
yourself wearing a frown,
look through the
bag and find a
brown.
When you feel as
though you just need something new,
feel free to dig,
and find that
blue!
If you're feeling
great, visiting teaching is DONE,
just eat them
ALL, you've had a good run!
Thank you,
sisters, for all you do,
We surely love
and appreciate you!
