Inspirational Stories and Poems

I've never seen God

I've never seen God, but I know how I feel...
It's people like you who make Him so real...
It seems that I pass Him so often each day...
In the faces of people I meet on my way...
He's the stars in the heavens, a smile on some face...
A leaf on a tree or a rose in a vase...
He's winter and autumn and summer and spring...
In short, God is Every Real, Wonderful Thing...
I wish I might meet Him much more than I do...
I would if there were more people like you.

Service

Supposing today were your last day on earth,
The last mile of the journey you've trod;
After all of your struggles, how much are you worth,
How much can you take home to God?
Don't count as possessions your silver and gold,
Tomorrow you leave these behind,
And all that is yours to have and to hold
Is the service you've given mankind.

A Teacher's Prayer

A Teacher's Prayer

If I can teach them more of thee
A way to live more reverently
To serve all men unselfishly
And love thy truth wholeheartedly
If I can give them courage strong
Teach to meet life with a song;
If I can mold one character
Into a pattern fine and pure
If I can bring them nearer thee,
Then I shall merit truthfully
The task entrusted now to me
And bear my title honorable.
-Mable Gabbot Jones

Thank You, Teacher
(attached to a rose or printed under a picture of a rose)

Sometimes it's hard for
Us little ones to say,
Thank you, Teacher,
For what you taught today.
You take us by the hand
And teach us from the heart
Preparing us for life
From the very start.
We recognize the time and
Patience you give,
Teaching us the gospel
That Jesus does live.
You make us each feel special
And we feel of your great love.
You will always be remembered
By us and God above.
May these roses be a symbol
From all of us to you.
Thank you for your example
And the many things you do.

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger?

There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese Legend…

Thumb represents your Parents

Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings

Middle finger represents your-Self

Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner & the Last (Little) finger represents your children

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back

Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip

(As shown in the figure above):

Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)...,

they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong,

and have to leave you sooner or later.

Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers

(representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and

sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own

separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers

(representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children

also will get married and settle down on their own some day.

Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers

(representing your spouse).

You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT....., because

Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and

thin!!

      ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

(representando tu esposo/a).
