  • YOUNG WOMEN’ S GENERAL PROGRAM PRESENTATION

  • Highlights on girls achievement on P.P last year  & Short talk on P.P
  • Presentation of the Values through the  “Light Keepers – Women” & Songs – During presentation YW  will be  dressed as women  biblical times , with colours that represent the Value, and will carry  a lamp, representing the Value.
  • We need to describe that the Young Women will be representing Women of great Virtue.That Virtue is the new Value added to the personal Progress Program and the YW Theme.

 

YW Melanie:

There was a severe drought in the land and I only had a handful of flour and some oil to make one last piece of bread for my son and I, and then lay down to die. When  a prophet from the Lord came to me and asked me to feed him all I had left, I had faith and did as he asked. The Lord blessed me and I never ran out of flour or oil. I am the widow of Sarepta, the Light Keeper of Faith.

YW :

Years ago, my father had received a vision, and as a result, I was converted to the gospel. Once I entered a King’s court and saw him, the queen and a Prophet from the Lord, who had fallen to the ground as if they were dead. I knew that it was a manifestation of God's power. I ran to tell the people, because I wanted them to also see God's power. Many of them came to understand that they are children of God. I did it all that because I knew in my heart  I was a daughter of Heavenly Father and that He knew and loved me. I am Abish, a Lamanite servant in King Lamoni's court. The Light Keeper of Divine Nature.

SONG – Firm In Faith – YW Kate – could wear something with Blue & White.

 

YW:

  I had a divine mission to fulfil on this earth. I was preordained to marry a righteous man in the covenant and become the mother of thousands of millions. Knowing this special man needed a wife, his father sent his servant to look for the right one among a covenant people, because he did not want his son to marry out of the covenant. The servant was guided by the Lord to find me and recognize worth & value.  Following the inspiration of the Lord, I agreed to be his wife. I am Rebekah from the Old Testament,  married to Isaac and the Light Keper of Individual Worth.

YW:

 After twenty years of oppression God decided to choose  me to deliver his people once again. Under my guidance the people of Israel was lead to victory against the Canaanites. It was improper for a woman to be alone in a house with a man. That’s why I went outside and sat down in a public place under a palm tree where people would come for me for wise judgment, and I could  instruct the people in Torah. I am Deborah, from the Old Testament, the Light Keeper of   Knowledge.

SONG – Fit for His Kingdom – YW Hannah – could wear something with  Red & Green

 

 YW :

I was a widow, when my mother-in-law decided to return to her ancestral home because she became widowed. I decided to accept the Gospel and go with her.  I married a righteous man, and King David and Jesus Christ are among our descendants. My decision to accept the Gospel was a great blessing in my life and in the lives of my descendents. I am Ruth The Light Keeper of Choice & Accountability.

 YW :

  I was a woman "full of good works and alms deeds". I loved to help others, and I made many coats and garments for the widows. One day I got sick and died. The people called an Apostle to come without delay. My body had already been prepared for burial. When the Apostle arrived, he prayed fervently to God, and then said: "Tabitha, arise." I opened my eyes and arose. Because of that miracle, many people believed in the Lord.
I am Dorcas, from the New Testament, The Light Keeper of Good Works.

SONG – Lighthouse in the night – YW Elizabeth –could wear something with Orange & Yellow.

 

YW:

 I married a very powerful  king. His minister hated my people  and plotted to have my people killed. My cousin asked me to intercede for them. Then He asked me to go before the king, to reveal my nationality and to try to persuade him to change that terrible plan. I knew I could be punished with death for going to the king without being invited, but I decided to do it. I was able to persuade the king, and he allowed my people to defend themselves, and they were saved.I am Esther, from the Old Testament,The Light Keeper of Integrity.

YW :

 I was a young girl when I was chosen to be the mother of a very special child. The angel appeared to me and said: "Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women". And I answered: "Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word". All my life I have strived to remain clean and pure and worthy of whatever the Lord wanted for me. I am Mary, the mother of Christ The Light Keeper of VIRTUE.

SONG  - Hold our torches high – YW Shaarn – could wear something with Purple & Gold.

 

 

 This part could be as surprise for the YW:

As those women in the past the Young Women of Duncraig Ward have decided to be the Light Keepers of one specific Value for these year of 2009, and to remind them about the commitment they have made, we would like to present them with a special gift that represents the Light they will keep for the whole year. So we would like the girls to come forward as they are called.

(One leader reads their names & Goal and other Leader gives “the lamp” to the YW.)

*The lamp could be a lamp they have in Ikea, with special paper with the colour of the Value  the YW has chosen to  “keep” for the year of 2009.
