Ice Cream Sculpting This is basically what we did, and we also included the Bishop speaking first regarding how we need to sculpt our lives (taking away the parts we don't need to reveal the child that God sees underneath). We used gallon buckets of ice cream, and some dipped them in hot water to remove the whole thing to sculpt, while other teams scooped the ice cream out and molded it. We found plastic gloves at the dollar store - 100 for a buck. The kids also had straws for decorating, and used the stryofoam bowls on the table that we put the candy, pretzel sticks etc. in. There were some tall sculptures, believe it or not! The best of show was a tall ice cream soda - they somehow made the "glass" out of the bowls and covered them with ice cream! We had two temples, a teletubby, volcano, (pull apart twizzlers made great lava), fort, theme park, and others I can't remember at the moment. Toward the end we passed out pixie sticks, and they used those to sprinkle color on the scultures. We had no other treat. They just ate the sculptures and the candy. Rebecca S |
