Burning a DVD

Watching a movie clip on a Mac

This info is for someone trying to burn a movie clip on to a DVD to watch on TV, like for those that have downloaded the movie clips I have put together, His Hands and Prophets and Apostles Share Testimonies of Christ nd the Fireside on Food Storage by Wendy DeWitt

First find out what your DVD player can play, then use that type of DVD recordable media. Most newer DVD burners support both formats so focus on what your DVD player can handle. You also need to make sure you are using the right kind that will work in your computer.

The DVD-R DVD+R difference:

  • The DVD-R/RW standard was developed by Pioneer, and is used primarily by Apple and Pioneer. These “minus“ discs can only be written to in one layer on the discs surface. In addition, this format is supported by the DVD forum, but is in no way an industry standard. DVD-R/RW discs are cheaper than the “plus” format.

  • The DVD+R/RW format is supported by Philips, Dell, Sony, HP, and Microsoft. These discs can be written to in multiple layers, giving them slightly better and more disc storage than the “minus“ format. Because of this additional capacity, they are slightly more expensive than “minus“ discs.

The downloading is a movie clip, it can be watched in Windows Media or something like that,

If you have a DVD burner, you will probably have a software that will burn it and convert it for you.

Click "START" and look for your program/software that burns the DVD's, (such as Sonic, Nero etc) then you would just drag and drop or import it into that software, and click burn, it should convert for you.

If it does not convert it here is a free software that will convert it for you. http://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html

I hope this helps somewhat, I pretty much copied and pasted the info above from other informational site I looked at, I know how to do certain things on my computer, but that does not mean I really know what I am doing :)

Oh, I use DVD+R disks!

ALSO:

The download is a movie file, which can be played right from your computer, using your windows media (for those with apples see the notes below) if you don't want to burn a t DVD you can always play it from your computer, hook up a project to your lap top and show it on a larger screen.
