OK, so let me see if I can give you enough info so you can do this yourself. For the craft we made with our Young Women, we used MDF wood, it is cheap and thin, we used a piece that was a 5 x 5 board. We had the girls paint the board black or brown, some painted it a coordinating color with the scrapbook paper they had chosen to use, painting the whole board gives it a more finished look, (the back side is painted too) then we had scrapbook paper they could choose from, something that would match their room, We offered 2 coordinating papers, they girls then decoupage then scrapbook paper and the temple picture to the board. We attached the ribbon (ribbon or tulle) with a staple gun on to the back. We also had an electric sander and just quickly sanded the edges to give it a shabby look, it also roughed up the paper a little for a nice shabby look! (click on the picture for a larger view)
Ok, now about the picture, as you can see we used a square picture on the square board, but you can do it how ever you want. I just printed the images out on photo paper on my ink jet printer. I am sure you could send it to a photo shop and have them print it for you, but the size you can get it printed in may be a problem. I did have one Sister email me and tell me that when she
decoupaged the print on to the board the ink ran (she had printed it the days before so it was dry) mine did not do that, so I am not sure what to tell you about that. I just saw this info on another site, Use MicroGlaze before mod podging so ink doesn’t smear.
