This humorous talk, using hymn titles, takes courage to
get right into it, but it can leave a pleasant message! LOL

I walked to the front of the room and said: “I STAND ALL AMAZED” that I am up here.
As Latter-day Saints we are practically obsessed with anxiously engaging ourselves in good causes. Maybe it’s subliminal.
Glancing through the hymnal last Sunday, I noted that AS SISTERS IN ZION, we who are CALLED TO SERVE are ALL ENLISTED to go marching, marching forward because THE WORLD HAS NEED OF WILLING MEN to ALL PRESS ON SCATTERING SUNSHINE. We wonder if WE HAVE DONE ANY GOOD IN THE WORLD TODAY, BECAUSE WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN MUCH and WANT TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS, PRESS FORWARD WITH THE SAINTS, and PUT OUR SHOULDERS TO THE WHEEL GOING WHERE HE WANTS US TO GO.
However, as THE MORNING BREAKS HIGH ON THE MOUNTAIN TOP, TRUTH REFLECTS UPON OUR SENSES, and while we still believe that SWEET IS THE WORK, we also realize that WE HAVE WORK ENOUGH TO DO ERE THE SUN GOES DOWN. And thus WE ASK THEE ERE WE PART, WHERE CAN WE TURN FOR PEACE?
Remember A KEY WAS TURNED SO ALL CREATURES OF OUR GOD AND KING COULD SING PRAISE TO HIM and use FAITH OF OUR FATHERS to COUNT YOUR MANY BLESSINGS and COME UNTO HIM. So, DID YOU THINK TO PRAY, “I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR?” Don’t WANDER THROUGH THE STILL OF NIGHT IN A WORLD (OF) SORROW; IMPROVE THE SHINING MOMENTS IN OUR LOVELY DESERET.
HOLD TO THE ROD IN THAT SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER. COME, SING TO THE LORD THE GLORIOUS GOSPEL LIGHT HAS SHONE. THE LORD BE WITH US ON THIS DAY OF JOY AND GLADNESS amd remember, OUR SAVIOR’S LOVE will LEAD INTO LIFE ETERNAL. So, YE WHO ARE CALLED TO LABOR, STAY TRUE TO THE FAITH for THERE IS AN HOUR OF PEACE AND REST AND THERE IS BEAUTY ALL AROUND. OH, IT IS WONDERFUL!

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS  (same tune, new words)
Hello-Welcome, everyone-You’re looking great;
You don’t look a minute over 98.
What have you to show for all the sweat and tears?
And the smiles and laughter of these many years?
CHORUS:
Count your wrinkles; name them one by one;
Counting Wrinkles can be lots of fun.
Don’t you pity-People who have none?
Count your many wrinkles, see what time has done.
Count from top to bottom or from left to right.
Counting wrinkles one by one could take all night.
If you’re in a hurry; here’s what you can do;
Count them all on one side and then multiply by two.
(CHORUS)
Some might say that naming wrinkles is insane;
Fred and Sue and Benjamin and Mary Jane.
Each and every wrinkle is a special friend;
They will all be with you to your journey’s end.
(CHORUS)

WE’RE A SMALL WARD
We’re a ward with laughter, A ward with tears;
We’re a ward with hopes, And a ward with fears.
There’s so much that we share
That it’s time we’re aware,
We’re a small ward after all.
We’re a small ward after all.
We’re a small ward after all,
We’re a small ward after all,
We’re a small, small ward.
We have just one shepherd And just one fold.
We have just one rod Of iron to hold.
Though we’re not all the same
Still our faith will remain
We’re a small ward after all.
We’re a small ward after all,
We’re a small ward after all,
We’re a small ward after all.
We’re a small, small ward.

Pres. Thomas S. Monson said in a 1997 conference: “A friend makes more than a dutiful visit each month. A friend is more concerned about helping people than getting credit. A friend cares. A friend loves. A friend listens. And a friend reaches out.”

Remember these words of our prophet Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley:? “Every new member of the Church needs three things: a friend, a responsibility, and nourishing by the good word of God.”

CHRIST HAS NO HANDS BUT OURS

No Hands But Yours

Christ has no hands but our hands, to do His work today,
He has no feet but our feet to lead men in His way.
He has no tongue but our tongue to tell men how He died,
He has no help but our help to bring them to His side.
We are the only Bible, the careless world will read,
We are the sinners’ gospel, we are the scoffers’ creed.
We are the Lord’s last message, given in deed and word,
What if the type is crooked, what if the print is blurred?
What if our hands are busy, with other work than His,
What if our feet are walking, where sin’s allurement is?
What if our tongues are speaking, of things His lips would spurn,
How can we hope to help Him, and hasten His return?
