I am using these Arise and Shine forth candle holders to introduce the new 2012 mutual theme to my young women.  They were so easy to make.  I downloaded the template for the circles from this link.  I then used a large circle punch to punch circles out around the theme.  If you do not have a large punch you could just cut circles around or cut a square shape.  I hot glued ribbon around candle holders from the dollar store and used the circle punched theme to cover my seam on the front.  I bought LED candles on clearance- I have also seen sets of them at the dollar store.  Each candle holder costs just about $1.30 to make.

I am going to have all the lights off in the room but have the “candle” light going (please remember you can’t use real candles in the church buildings) when the girls come into the room.  I am going to them invite each yw to pick a candle holder and then ask them one by one to turn their light off.  I hope to show them how each light makes a difference and how they are a force for good when they “arise and shine forth” to bring light to a darkened world.  I will them ask them each to one by one turn their candles back on- going from dark to light. We will then read D&C 115:5.  Each girl will get to take home her candle holder as a reminder of the 2012 theme.

The time has come for me to be honest with myself,  that I just can't keep up with this site any more. I am working full time now and loving on my grandkids.  I will still be adding great quotes I find and things from General conference etc. Never fear, I am still here for you. If you need something please reach out to me, and I will See what I can do. You can reach me at theideadoor@gmail.com

Thanks for your understanding! Liz from the Idea Door
