Story of >The King=s Son= as told by Bishop Featherstone (follows):

Emily:               ABishop Vaughn J. Featherstone relates the story of the son of King Louis XVI                         (16th) of France.  King Louis had been taken from his throne and imprisoned.                              His young son, the prince, was taken by those who dethroned the king.  They                           thought that inasmuch as the kin=s son was heir to the throne, if they could                                          destroy him morally, he would never realize the great and grand destiny that                                       life had bestowed upon him.

Marley:             AThey took him to a community far away, and there they exposed the lad to every filthy and vile thing that life could offer. They exposed him to foods the richness of which would quickly make him a slave to appetite.  They used vile language around him constantly.  They exposed him to lewd and lusting women.  They exposed him to dishonour and distrust.  He was surrounded 24 hours a day by everything that could drag the soul of a man as low as one could slip.

Emily:                           AFor over six months he had this treatment – but not once did the young lad buckle under pressure.  Finally, after intensive temptation, they questioned him. Why had he not submitted himself to these things – why had he not partaken?  These things would provide pleasure, satisfy his lusts, and were desirable; they were all his.  They boy said, AI cannot do what you ask for I was born to be a king.@

Song by Laurels: Created in His Image

Isy:                               Says Bishop Featherstone: AWe are all born to be kings in the kingdom of God. Our Father is a king, and just as the king=s son was exposed to every vile and perverted thing in this life, so you will be exposed to much of the filth and degradation of our generation.  BUT YOU AARONIC PRIESTHOOD BEARERS AND YOUNG WOMEN ARE ALSO BORN TO BE KINGS AND QUEENS, PRIESTS AND PRIESTESSES.@
EVERY YOUNG WOMAN IN THIS ROOM IS BORN TO BE A QUEEN.

Reprise:            Created in His Image (Laurels sing chorus)

Cassie:                        The queen to be stands beside the throne, facing the audience.

A queen has a palace.

Revelations 21: And the building of the wall of it was of jasper and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass……

And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones…..

And twelve gates were twelve pearls, and the street of the city was pure gold as it were transparent glass……

And I saw no temple therein for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it…….

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof…….

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth………..@

The palace represents the celestial beauty of our exalted surroundings.

Teylor:                          A queen has a kingdom and an inheritance.

Revelations 5: 10:  And we shall reign on the earth.

Doctrine and Covenants 45:58: And the earth shall be given unto them for an inheritance.  He that overcometh shall inherit all things.

We will inherit all that the Father has and will reign over the earth with Him forever.

Josie:                            A queen has a throne.  (Queen to be sits on throne)

Revelations 3:21: To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne.

Hebrews 4:16: Let us come boldly unto the throne of grace.

The throne represents the atonement of Jesus Christ which enables us to become queens.

Cairo:                           A queen has a robe.  (Places robe on queen to be)

Doctrine and Covenants 109:76: That we may be clothed upon with robes of righteousness.

The robe represents the righteousness that we will have attained.

Claire:                          A queen has a crown.  (Places crown on queen=s head)

Doctrine and Covenants 101:65: ….the wheat may be secured in the garners to possess eternal life, and be crowned with celestial glory.

The crown represents the celestial glory that will be ours.

Morgan:           A queen has a scepter.  (Places scepter in queen=s hand)

Doctrine and Covenants 121:46: Thy scepter and unchanging scepter of righteousness and truth.

The scepter represents truth and righteousness which will exist forever.
Alyce:                           A queen has treasure.  (Places a necklace out of the treasure chest on the queen)

Matthew 6:21:  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The treasure represents the values which have become part of us.

Song by Young Women:  The Treasure Within

Kayla:                          A queen must have faith. (Places FAITH placard on wall near picture of Christ and Young Women.  The girl will then speak for 2 mins max, giving an example)

Llaine:                          A queen must understand her divine nature.  (Places DIVINE NATURE placard on wall and gives brief talk and example)

Simone:            A queen must feel her individual worth.  (Places INDIVIDUAL WORTH placard on wall etc)

Keshia:                         A queen must have knowledge.  (Places KNOWLEDGE placard on wall etc)

Paige B:            A queen must make right choices.  (Places CHOICE & ACCOUNTABILITY placard on wall etc)

Paige A:           A queen must do good works.  (Places GOOD WORKS placard on wall etc)

Jade:                            A queen must have integrity.  (Places INTEGRITY placard on wall etc)

Isy:                   Stand for Truth and Righteousness.  The girls say the YW theme.

YW Leader:     The red carpet represents the path that leads to Exaltation and Queenhood.

(The leader speaks for around 3-5 mins incorporating the following ideas:

*Red represents the atonement

*The path consists of making covenants.  The girls have already made one covenant at baptism and further will follow in the temple.  Refer to the jars with letters for the time they will make further covenants.  If we keep our covenants, the Lord will keep His.

*Because I was born to be a queen, I can do hard things. Name some hard things the girls may face on their path to exaltation and queenhood.)

Bishop: Calls each girl by name and crowns her with a tiara, and gives her her jar in                     which are her covenant letters.

YW Leader:     Finish with these words:

YOU WERE BORN TO BE A QUEEN, so Young Women,

Walk tall, you=re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong.  Please remember who you are.

Try to understand, you=re part of His great plan.

He=s closer than you know.  Reach up; He=ll take your hand.

Within this jar, as you can see, for you and your posterity,

Are words from friends and family who’ve covenanted with Deity.

It won’t be long before you’ll be inside those temple doors and free

To covenant too and know how He will bless your life eternally.

Then read these words, dear queen to be, and know that now you hold the key

To that which is your destiny – a queen for all eternity.

Glad of heart, His holy name confessing, Praises unto Him we bring.

WALK TALL, YOU’RE A DAUGHTER OF GOD

Words and music by Jamie Glenn

Right now I have a prayer deep within in my heart.

A prayer for each of you there is a special part

That you remember who you are and Him who lives above.

Please seek for Him and live His way; You’ll feel His love.

Walk tall, you’re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong, please remember who you are.

Try to understand, you’re part of His great plan.

He’s closer than you know.  Reach up, He’ll take your hand.

Long before the time you can remember,

Our Father held you in His arms so tender.

Those loving arms released you as He sent you down to earth.

He said, “My child, I love you. Don’t forget your great worth.”

Walk tall, you’re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong, please remember who you are.

Try to understand, you’re part of His great plan.

He’s closer than you know.  Reach up, He’ll take your hand.

This life on earth we knew would not be easy.

At times we lose our way His plan we may not see.

But please remember, always, please, that you are not alone.

He’ll take your hand,  He loves you.  He will guide you home.

Walk tall, you’re a daughter, a child of God.

Be strong, please remember who you are.

Try to understand, you’re part of His great plan.

He’s closer than you know.  Reach up, He’ll take your hand.
